Another year, another audacious middle-finger-straight-to-the-face from the good folks at Willamette Week. $70 for not guaranteed admission? Encouraging the Hood Internet by paying them to do mash-ups? Pretending that Band of Horses and Iron and Wine constitute some sort of ‘special’ line up? Get out of my face, MFNW.
THE SMMR OF NO BMMRS
If you’re 21 and not stupid then I imagine you will be going to this year’s SMMR BMMR fest. Shannon + Clams, Personal + Pizzas, Mean Jeans, the Ketamines, Guantanamo Baywatch, and Youthbitch are all A+ and apparently there are some other fine dandy bands playing as well. If only MAYYORS decided to break up at this SMMR BMMR and not the one I was too young to see. SMMR BMMR is MFNW...
CATCHING UP WITH THE TIMES
Only want to listen to music that came out in 2011, I want to know what the kids listen to. It sucks feeling left out when people start spouting off on the new shit like hot-house and snack-wave and I can’t. So, please, send suggestions.
Also, our predictions for hits, misses and fun times at SMMR BMMR (rad) and MusicFest NorthWest (sorta cool) will be out shortly.
